 Publication of an article about my Dark Zoo series in the national Colombian newspaper "El Espectador". "Tuvimos que ser pacientes y vigilantes para capturar una mirada, una emoción", dice Nicolás Evariste. En Dark Zoo, la última serie de este joven fotógrafo francés, la tristeza se escapa de una cebra cabizbaja, el erotismo enreda los cuellos de dos jirafas, un vanidoso Lemur catta mira autocomplaciente sugran cola anillada y el guepardo se sabe rey. Ocultar los barrotes,las jaulas, y oscurecer la escena fueron las tareas más difíciles al retratar los animales delzoológico. "Desafortunadamente no siempre fue posible tener un fondo oscuro. Trabajé el contraste en la posproducción", comenta Nicolás. Ensus primeros trabajos aparecen atardeceres e insectos. Pero luego abandonó el color para concentrarse en el blanco y negro. Por su dramatismo. También usa formatos cuadrados. Le dan belleza y simplicidad a los objetos retratados, dice. La naturaleza siempre es la protagonista.
